#### 1. Departmental Members :

The mathematics teacher or head of the department and his/her department members should be appropriate and prepared to assist in the identification of the mathematics laboratory in the school program. Initially, only one or two members of the department are required at the time of the establishment of the laboratory, but converting the laboratory into a mathematics learning center depends on the cooperation of the entire department members.

#### 2. Physical Facilities of Mathematics Laboratory :

There should be a special place for mathematics laboratories in new schools. And all facilities and conditions should be given a place in his plan. The laboratory should be attached to the Kutch and separated from it by a variable part. This will provide a substantial portion for extensive group instruction as and when required. #### 3. Maths Laboratory Furniture :

**Counting Center**

**Game Center**

A multi-purpose table measuring 30″×72″ should be placed at the play center.

**Measurement Center**

The measurement center should have a 30″×70″ multipurpose table of measurement.

**Learning Center**

A small and low table should be kept at the roofing center with a carpet below and a comfortable sofa or some comfortable chairs.

**File Cabinet**

There should be at least 2 cupboards and the number can be increased as per the requirement of the resources.

**Store**

It must be either part of the laboratory or something separate attached to it but must be.

**Shelves**

Proper place should be given for keeping reading material, workbooks, kits, games, and other items in the mathematics laboratory.

#### 4. Equipment :

- 1 Mathematical laboratory should have a calculation center which should have an electronic calculator as well as an electrical calculator.
- 2 Mathematics laboratory should have various measuring instruments, tapes, meters, weighing machines, etc.

### Precautions while Working in a Math Lab :

- 1- Should have good knowledge about the equipment or material used.
- 2- The equipment should be used carefully and should not be neglected.
- 3- The arrangement of the display table should be done properly.
- 4- Time should also be taken care of while using it.
- 5- After use, all the equipment should be kept clean in the same place.
- 6- All students should get the opportunity to work in the laboratory.

### Maths Lab Requirement :

In the laboratory, the child tries to learn by doing by himself, due to which his knowledge becomes permanent. Whereas theoretical knowledge only emphasizes possessing it is temporary. The knowledge of the laboratory generates interest in the child.
