Honda City Hybrid

will run on both electric and petrol, the mid-size sedan with the highest mileage of 26.5 kmpl in the country

Honda Cars India on Thursday finally officially introduced its Honda City e: HEV Hybrid for the Indian market.

Honda City Hybrid has now become the most fuel efficient mid-size sedan car in the country, giving a mileage of 26.5 kmpl in 1 liter of petrol.

The Honda City Hybrid is the first mass-market 'authentic' hybrid car introduced in India.  Maruti Suzuki recently introduced a mild hybrid for its Ciaz petrol model,

which offers a marginal increase in mileage.  But the City Hybrid is truly a hybrid car.  Honda has started booking the new City Hybrid.

Will run on both electricity and petrol The new Honda e:HEV (Honda e:HEV) is the first product in the mid-size sedan segment to get a true hybrid engine.

The car is capable of running on pure electric mode, and can also be driven with an internal combustion engine (ICE).  The new Honda City Hybrid is only available in one variant, the ZX, which will be the top-end trim.

The launch of the new Honda City e:HEV comes at a time when the Indian government is emphasizing on clean mobility.

And the new City Hybrid does just that without the need for any special infrastructure.  Also, with the City being Honda's best-selling model in India, the carmaker is looking to increase customer interest in this segment.
